You’re going to go blind
‘Don’t get so close; you’re going to go blind.’ That’s what my mother would have told me if she had seen me with my face glued to the television from 3.00 to 4.00 pm for 100 straight days. I delved into the midday news broadcasts. In the images shown so that all viewers could glimpse – from time to time – the glimmers of a world explained only halfway through information. The resulting works, photographed directly on the TV screen and processed digitally, go beyond the concept of using and taking from the news bulletins to challenge their typical nature.
